how I work
I am a process-oriented, multi-disciplinary artist. What does that mean?! It means I do not know what I am going to create. I do not have a plan. It also means I create scupltures, paintings, drawings, videos, or digital art. I allow the media (clay, paint, camera, etc.) to tell me what to do. That sounds completely bonkers, I know, but that is the way it goes for me.
While thinking about issues or notions which I find intriquing, I use various media to keep my body busy. The result of this busyness is a body of work which people enjoy.
Generally, one project leads to another. Documentation photographs of a resolved work may become a point of departure for a digital print series. Digital prints can find themselves as stills in a video.
The media is the messenger, not I. You are free to think and find your own story in my work.
